QuiltCon 2019 - Summary of My Quilts

Image
I'm back and finally getting over being exhausted but I had an amazing time at QuiltCon this year.  I think the best part of the show is running into so many fellow quilters that I've only met online, meeting all the new people and seeing old friends!

I had four quilts in the competition part of the show, two in the Quilt of the Month showcase and the giveaway quilt.  I received judges notes on the four quilts in the competition portion of the show.  I would like to share the judges comments in hopes it will make them less terrifying and encourage others to enter in QuiltCon and other shows.  First up Colonnade, by far my favorite make of 2018:

QuiltCon judges notes vary from other quilt shows in that they don't give a quantified score.  Pluses next to one of the considerations indicates that the quilt being evaluated excelled in that area, or at least that is how it has been explained to me and then the judges leave comments on the bottom of the page.  I think Colonnad…

Summertime Clambake

I have a finished quilt to share!  I know it's been a while but there's been a good reason for that.  I've had a project, that I can share at a later date, that needed to be wrapped up before I could start on a new project.

It's really a well designed template that even includes a squaring up template that made matching up seams so easy.  I'd recommend it in a heart beat and Jenny has done some pretty amazing designs with it, see her Instagram account for more pictures.
Fortunately, I had the perfect print in my stash for the backing, and yes it ended up being another Melody Miller pr…

Retro Rollers Pattern Release

Image
Wow time is flying this month.  Back on June 3rd, I released my Retro Rollers pattern for purchase!  I can't believe it's already been a week and I'm just now finding the time for a post, crazy.
Early this spring I was instantly inspired a couple neon pink prints for Cotton + Steel and designed this quilt.  I was so much fun to make that I wrote a pattern and found two great pattern testers that kindly agreed to a quick turn around, thank you Christa and Haven!!
The pattern has easy to follow instructions, diagrams, templates and features a unique diagonal stripe technique.  The PDF download is available at Etsy.com and Craftsy.com or you can go to the pattern tab above and click through to my Etsy shop.
I also have some news on all those challenges I took part in this Spring.  First after participating in Curated Quilts mini challenge I received notification that Intersections 2.0 was picked to be featured in the first issue of Curated Quilts!
The third challenge I entere…
