In the spirit of the season, I thought I'd pass on a fun fact about myself. I am a descendant of Mayflower Pilgrims, Issac Allerton, Mary Allerton and their daughter Remember Allerton. Mary died the first winter in Plymouth but Mary grew up and lived near Salem. I hope to make it to Massachusetts one day and see where the Allertons lived.
"As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving." Colossians 2:6-7
Heather, I was amazed to read your bit of history this morning! I also had ancestors on the Mayflower named Allerton. Unlike you, I have lived in Massachusetts, tho I now live in VT.
ReplyDeleteWe’re cousins!! Yes, Issac and Mary with their 3 children made the voyage on the Mayflower. Issac remarried after Mary died. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
