Come Quilt With Me!
Hello everyone! It's been a while but that's because there has been much going on behind the scene. First off, I have some great retreat/workshop opportunities to share with you. Because my daughter is still young I don't like being away from home much so I am very picky about where I choose to travel and teach.
My next quilt retreat is at the Madeline School of Arts in August:
This is a comprehensive class that will touch on how to make dynamic curve quilts. Finding your creative voice is so important and this class will give you tools to guide you on that journey while learning the ins and outs of curve piecing.
Next up, I'll be teaching again at Empty Spools Seminars in April 2023!
In this class we will work on a quilt while learning different curve piecing techniques. Each day there will be an introduction demo with a pretty flower block. Each flower is made in a different way front he others. By the end of the class you will have a bad full of new curve piecing techniques and tips and tricks for successfully piecing curves.
Finally I'm hosting an ALASKAN CRUISE! Enjoy the breath taking views while making my Pole Star quilt. This is a modified New York beauty where we will paper piece our curves. We will be meeting to sew and go over the pattern while at sea but when in port you will have the entire time to explore Alaska!
I know it seems early to be booking a cruise for June 11-18, 2023 but Alaska cruises sell out and we need to fill our class or the cruise will sell the spots to other customers. If this is something you are interested in, it's going to be a blast!, please register at quiltingadventurespro.com
Don't worry if you aren't ready for a full quilt retreat I also have an upcoming LIVE digital workshop with Crafty Monkies in June!
Crafty Monkies is a unique maker inspired company that hosts live workshops as well as recorded workshops. I designed a series of quilts for the three workshops I will be teaching, Auction House Series. The first workshop is for my Lot No. 1 quilt. This minimal abstract quilt features a mix of curves and stripes. In the workshop we'll go over curve piecing, piecing stripes and how to spark your creativity. I'm really looking forward to this new workshop format.
It's not exactly a workshop but I will be doing several lectures at the Walla Walla Quilt Festival as the National Featured Quilter this year!!
This is a great opportunity to enter those quilts that you've been wanting to share. It's going to be great to be at a quilt show for the first time in 2 years and I hope to meet many of you in person. Don't forget to check out the Walla Walla Quilt Festival site for more information.
I know much of this seems so far away but workshops do fill up and it's especially important to sign up for the Alaskan Cruise early since the ship can fill up before the deadline for the workshop. If enough people sign up for the cruise Quilting Adventure Pro will supply the sewing machines for us to use so no need to lug around a sewing machine!!
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls."1 Peter 1:3-9
