In honor on my friend
Yvonne, Quilting Jet Girl, I've decided to share more of my Portal Quilt in the post. Yvonne recently posted a
book review for
Daisy and my book
Quilt Modern Curves & Bold Stripes.

Along with a quick book review Yvonne is sponsoring a book giveaway! Go to Yvonne's site and follow the link to enter the giveaway. One lucky winner will receive a copy of Quilt Modern Curves & Bold Stripes!
My Portal quilt has a great subtle stripe in the background and a great sci-fi theme. Each of the green portal blocks are closed but there is one open portal block. It's a fun quilt to design especially for my nerdy, Star Trek TOS loving, self.

This was one of the harder quilts in the book for me to make. It's not the most technically difficult but there were so many strip sets to make.

That is why this quilt is perfect for a printed stripe! When I made the printed stripe alternative I used a high contrast stripe and my favorite PINK.

Along with Yvonne's review and giveaway both Jo Avery and Minki Kim made a posted on Instagram quilt blocks inspired by Daisy and my book! Both ladies also have books with C&T Publishing's Stash Book division.
Next up is QuiltCon 2020! I will definitely have more to share about that soon, including information about my
QuiltCon magazine quilt.
"And Bezalel and Aholiab, and every gifted artisan in whom the Lord has put wisdom and understanding, to know how to do all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, shall do according to all that the Lord has commanded" Exodus 36:1
I love the insight that Portals was one of the more challenging quilts for you to make. I love the Treky back story for the design, too!
ReplyDeleteThank Yvonne!! Sorry for the delayed response my browser was blocking me from replying and I think I finally feel like I am all caught up after QuiltCon. I'm a huge Star Trek TOS fan, I even went to see William Shatner and got a picture with him last year, it was so cool!!
DeletePortals is gorgeous!! I just love all the patterns in your book!
ReplyDeleteThanks!! Sorry the delayed responses to your comments, I had to work through a glitch in my browser that wasn't letting me respond.
